A wannabe (again) full-time RVer powered by StarLink, caffeine, and the desperate hope that the noises I'm bound to hear on the road can be easily fixed by Googling it OR that "it" can't open doors.
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” asked Alice.
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
“I don’t much care where–” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.
My name is Hillary Summerton and, after owning a home in SouthWest Virginia since 2020, I’ve decided to try to sell everything and go back to full time RVing – something I did from 2011 to 2020.
I’m sure a lot has changed since the last time I was on the road but hopefully I can still find great hiking, beautiful places, and solitude. I do want to do a lot more boondocking and I plan on getting a generator as well as solar panels and lithium batteries on the new RV. I even purchased StarLink so I can continue to work most anywhere.
Temporary change of plans…
Unfortunately, as of June 2026, my full time plan has changed and I’ve decided to keep my house for a while longer. It’ll give me some time do some minor improvements over the winter and then I’ll put it back on the market early 2027. I also decided that maybe I’ll try a heavy duty pickup and truck camper as opposed to towing something. Just think of the places I’ll be able to get lost or stuck in! Woot!
Working from the road…
It’s hard to believe that I’ve been doing web design and development for my own company, ONNA Web Design, since 2004. It certainly has changed over the years. While I’m never going to get rich (I’m still trying to figure out if I’m working remotely or just remotely working…) it does allow me to work from anywhere. So if you’re looking for your own website or blog, let me know!
Teddy will not be amused…
Teddy is a big homebody. He is uncomfortable with new things – new hiking trails, new locations, new people… gah, he is nervous about everything he’s not familiar with.
